Vandal resistant dome camera with varifocal lens
Seoul, South Korea
Samsung Techwin has launched a new vandal resistant dome camera, the SVD-440, which is suitable for virtually any indoor or outdoor application where the unit may be subject to tampering or attack.

Featuring an easy to adjust built-in 2.8mm-10mm varifocal lens, the SVD-4400 has the capability to deliver flexible viewing options from wide to narrow angle, making it suitable for the vast majority of applications.

Weatherproofed to IP66, the SVD-4400 features a day/night camera module with an integrated IR cut-filter to provide true day/night operation. Samsung Techwin's W4 DSP chipset is incorporated to deliver 580TV lines resolution colour and 700TV lines resolution monochrome images down to 0.001 lux without the need for additional lighting.

A tough die-cast aluminium vandal resistant body and a rugged polycarbonate dome bubble houses the camera model that has a wide range of features and functions including motion detection, digital image stabilisation (DIS), privacy masking, white balance and dual voltage options.

"The SVD-4400 is a discreet and stylish vandal resistant dome that provides installers with a solution for a wide variety of CCTV projects as well as offering excellent value for money," said Peter Ainsworth, product manager for Samsung Techwin's professional security division. "In addition to the impressive feature list it also includes backlight compensation and a Highlight Compensation feature (HLC), which "sees through" bright light sources making it possible to read car number plates, even when the camera is facing car headlights."

Like all Samsung Techwin cameras and domes, the SVD-4400 contains exclusive Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNR) technology, which eliminates image noise in low light conditions without creating ghosting or smear. By eliminating noise, SSNR also can save up to 70 percent hard disk recording space and maximise bandwidth when viewing or recording over a network.

The SVD-4400 is compatible with a Samsung Techwin's range mounting accessories including wall, pendant, corner, swan-neck, pole, ceiling, in-ceiling and parapet bracket options.
