Asoni launches economical 1080P IP camera

The new Asoni 1080p full HD IP economical camera series carries a 5-year warranty and is made up of the CAM679, CAM679F and CAM678H.
This new series incorporates a1080P CMOS sensor capable of reproducing full HD quality images. For an output of H.264/ MJPEG/ MPEG4 triple mode and streaming transmission, the CAM679 series IP camera supports 25FPS at 1920 x 1080 resolution. It also features digital I/O and 3GPP, and supports remote viewing through a 3G mobile phone. Additional features include 2-way audio and 8-step manual shutter adjustments.

To accommodate different user requirements Asoni has developed three models in this series to fit various different applications. The CAM679F-W has been designed for wireless transmission requirements. D-WDR / DNR features are embedded into the CAM679F and CAM678H to achieve high quality video under different conditions. The PoE facility allows the 3 models to save time and money for users during installation.

Last week SecurityWorldHotel.com reported that Johnson Controls had agreed a merger with Tyco that reportedly would result in $500 million in operational synergies over the first three years after closing and in addition it would be expected to create at least $150 million in annual tax synergies.  In a statement recently Hillary Clinton has shunned this type of merger by calling it "outrageous" and went on to say, according to Reuters, that  as president she would block such moves using an "exit tax."

Memphis Police improve prosecution rate with Hikvision

Hikvision has teamed up with the Memphis Police Department (MPD) to protect resdients - using a variety of security solutions to prevent and reduce crime, since 2007 MPD has deployed hundreds of analogue and IP cameras and dozens of recorders from Hikvision to keep the city safe. With incidents now being captured on high-quality video, MPD has noted an increase in criminal cases being taken to court. The city has also built a Real Time Crime Center where they can view live video feeds and provide critical information to officers before they arrive at a crime scene.

IHS predicts further acquisitions ahead

As we reported last week, Johnson Controls and Tyco International  plan to merge with a deal that is still subject to approvals by regulators and shareholders, and due to close at the end of 2016.  The combined company will be known as Johnson Controls plc and it forecasts revenues of $32 billion in 2016.  Research specialists IHS predict that following this latest merger announcement we may see more acquisitions within the security system integration segment of the market.
