Airlive introduces 8-port Ethernet switch

Taipei, Taiwan

Airlive has released a new 8-port fast Ethernet switch, the POE-FSH804AT, with 4 integrated PoE ports.
New to the Airlive portfolio is ethernet switch POE-FSH804AT containing overall eight 10/100Mbps ports, four with PoE (Power over Ethernet), meeting and exceeding the requirements of 802.3af norm, which requires at least 15W per port, as well as the latest and more demanding norm 802.3at, which amongst other things requires a minimum of 25W of power for each connected device.

The POE-FSH804AT has four powered PoE ports, each capable of providing 30W, and the device can deliver a maximum of 60W of power in total. These ports are protected with overload protection, in the event where a situation arises where the total power draw exceeds 60W, the power will be gradually switched off according to priority. Priority of ports is fixed in the device configuration, and in the order 1-4, so that when overloaded, first port to be shut down would be port number 4.

These PoE ports are equipped with automatic sensing for active PoE presence, so that when a device is connected that requires active PoE supply it immediately begins the necessary 48V voltage injection to the port. In addition, this switch also includes all the usual features found on a device of this category today, such as full duplex and flow control, total throughput of up to 1.6Gbps, detection of a crossover cable and all operating states are clearly indicated by LEDs.

This new 8-port fast Ethernet switch from Airlive is ideally suited to becoming one of the cornerstones for smaller camera systems or wireless networks. It is designed to appeal to the user not only through quality and reliability, but especially for its ability to power connected PoE devices and also for its straightforward and simple installation and configuration, requiring no special adjustments. These features allow the implementation of this switch to significantly reduce both the assembly time and demands during usage.
