Mission 500 pushes for record numbers at charity run

Miami, Fl

In a push to break the 1,000 participant entry number, Mission 500 is urging ISC West attendees to sign up for this year’s annual Security 5K/2K run/walk.  The event will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 am on Thursday, April 7 and proceeds from the fundraiser are used to assist children in crisis around the world, with World Vision as the implementation partner.

“The Mission 500 Security 5K/2K run/walk is fast becoming a classic at ISC West and we’re hoping to break the 1,000 entry mark this year,” said George Fletcher, Advisory Council Member/Volunteer, Mission 500. “It is an especially meaningful race because it gives participants an opportunity to raise money for a great cause while challenging themselves.”

Participants who succeed in raising $500 or more for children in crisis in the U.S will automatically be enrolled in the 500 Club. As added incentives, 2016 500 Club members will receive a 20oz. Mission 500 Yeti Rambler Tumbler and are also eligible to enter for the grand prize of a NASCAR experience. To enter, 500 Club members must submit a brief essay on why they support Mission 500.

The Security 5K Reception and Awards Ceremony will take place in the afternoon on April 7th on the SSN Media stage, located on the second floor of the Sands Convention Center. In addition to recognising top fundraisers, the awards ceremony will highlight Mission 500's achievements and set the stage for even bigger things to come. Organising sponsors and the Mission 500 organisation will also present awards to runners in different age categories and to the top male and female runners.
