Airlive advanced Fiber Switches to launch in Dubai

Taipei, Taiwan

Airlive will debut its new Fiber Switch series at the Intersec 2017 show, beginning in Dubai at the International Convention and Exhibition Center, UAE on Sunday.  The full Fiber Switch series is equipped with up to 8 or 24 SFP fibre ports that are designed for use as core switches or floor inter-connectivity.

Fibre optics is known for its high stability and long distance transmission reliability, making it the major media for medium and large projects and applications.  Most Ethernet switches, though already have a 1 or 2 SFP interface built in, via a standard RJ45 connection that is limited at 100m, which is not sufficient for many applications.

Airlive, an Ovislink company, is a global brand with 23 years of experience specialising in network communication and surveillance and aims to provide high quality IT products that meet customers’ requirements for various applications. Based on their research, it is imperative for a core switch to be connected to its remote-configured switches only via fibre transmission.

Airlve Fiber Switches support diverse management functions, including Web, SNMP, Telnet , Console.  The Fiber Switch  is equipped with 8 or 24 SFP fibre ports (as an option). And in terms of long distance, with a different SFP transceiver, Airlive Fiber Switches support connections with other switches within a distance range of 850m up to 80Km.

The Fiber Switch supports a Redundant Power Supply. The redundant power input is important as this fibre switch normally works as the core switch for its entire Internet configuration and mapping. If the core switch is off, the whole internet infrastructure will go down, too. This switch has two power inputs: 100~200V AC, and -48V DC. Each power input is capable of powering an entire switch. If one fails, the other power supply can seamlessly maintain the switch powered up so as to not interrupt its operation and performance during use.
