Basler IP security cameras integrate with Seetec software

Ahrensburg, Germany

Basler Vision Technologies has teamed with Seetec to integrate Basler IP security cameras with Seetec 5 video management software. In addition to Basler's box camera models, Seetec 5 supports Basler's IP fixed dome security cameras and is the first video management software to integrate the dome camera SD card functionality.
The built-in microSDHC card slot in Basler IP Fixed Dome Cameras can be used for local file storage on an SD card with a capacity of up to 32 GB. When configured properly, the camera can act as a self-sufficient system writing all alarm images and streams to the SD card, a functionality that has already been required in a joint Basler/SeeTec railway project in Eastern Europe.

Other supported functions include multi-streaming, a time shift feature that only requests images from the camera in case of an alarm, and output scaling that rescales camera images before they are encoded and transmitted.

"We are delighted about the integration of Basler IP Camera functions into Seetec's video management software," commented Gerrit Schreiber, Product Manager for IP Components at Basler Vision Technologies. "The SD card support is a prime example of the excellent level of cooperation between two companies aiming to provide their customers with the optimum solution for their surveillance needs."

Ulrich Heissler, Product Manager and co-founder of Seetec said: "Providing access to the camera's SD card memory via the Seetec software supports the storage of alarm images, especially in unstable networks or when available bandwidth fluctuates greatly. The high camera resolution means that alarm images saved in the camera will be storage intensive. Direct access to these local images is possible via a management tool in Seetec's video management software.”
