In 2012, SANS joined forces with industry leaders and experts to strengthen the cybersecurity of Industrial Control Systems by creating a standardised training programme and GIAC certification to assist those tasked with protecting critical national infrastructure. The initiative equips security professionals and control system engineers with the security awareness, work-specific knowledge, and hands-on technical skills needed to secure automation and control system technology.
