Large capacity biometric fingerprint system from Multilink

Watford. Hertfordshire (UK)

Multilink Access Control Systems, and their systems manufacturer DDS, have introduced a new high capacity biometric fingerprint reader - the KF2000, which has been integrated directly into the Amadeus 5 software and the Toplock 4 control system, giving the end user a fully programmable system from one complete package. There is no longer a need for tedious pre-programming of the fingerprint reader and then copying the information to the access system software, etc.

The KF2000 fingerprint reader is able to hold the templates for up to 1000 users and has further options up to 4000 users. The system is coupled to the Toplock 4 - 2000 user control system, with options for higher user quantities if required.
The KF2000 can read finger only for simple low security applications or can provide higher security via card and fingerprint, i.e. HID proximity card and keypad code. This makes the entire system very adaptable.
Programming is via a small USB fingerprint enrolment reader, which is connected to the programming computer. The operator gets the user to press a finger onto the enrolment reader twice and that's all there is to it. The data is recorded into the Amadeus 5 software and is downloaded to the entire Toplock and KF2000 reader systems. The user then simply presses his or herfinger onto the reader and the door opens
if its access level agrees. All high level security is performed by the Toplock control system, which commands the door etc to open; the KF2000 is the initiator only. Access levels and "access at what time" commands are all programmed at the Amadeus software.
According to Mike Castro, MD of Multilink, "This is the system the industry has been waiting for. We believe this to be a major step forward in the integration of real biometric fingerprint applications where high user numbers are required."
